Article 1 - What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. It allows the site to remember information about your visit (preferences, session identifier, etc.) to make your later browsing easier. The browser's local storage ("localStorage") follows the same rules: this policy covers both.

3.1 Consent banner

On your first visit, a banner allows you to:

  • Accept all cookies
  • Reject all cookies (a button given the same prominence as "Accept", in line with CNIL recommendations)
  • Customise your choices

3.2 Changing your choices

You can change your choices or withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it: click the "Manage cookies" button at the bottom of every page of the site, among the legal links. The customisation panel opens with your current choices; your new choice applies as soon as you save it.

Your choice, whether you accept or reject, is kept for 6 months, as recommended by the CNIL. After that period, the banner appears again to ask you once more.

3.3 Browser settings

You can also set your browser to accept, reject or delete cookies:

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies
  • Firefox: Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies
